One of the more prominent themes convey in this assemblage is that of heathenish differences and how they lead to uninformed assumptions ab bulge people. Unfortunately the assumptions Fadiman nudges the reader towards are not as bare which makes her ideas seem more acceptable because they are not pressure upon the reader. These subtleties poke out from beneath Fadimans overlying themes of toleration and cultural relativism which blanket the novel. These overlying themes may be formal and heart warming, but they are also unrealistic as can be witnessed passim the novel.
